After an incredible seven days, I'd planned a 3 day trip in Cancun at an All Inclusive to wind down at and it went better than expected. I found us a Secrets Resort a quick Uber ride away on the beach, with the decision based on the distance and cost. It's more modern than most we visit so I was worried we wouldn't like it a great deal, espcially since Lucy likes the more tradtional Mexican style resorts. So, we headed to Secrets The Vine with low expectations. I was wrong. I'd booked us basic entry level rooms at the lowest cost point. From the moment we walked in I knew this was going to be a good decision. They whisked us up to the Preferred lounge on the 12th floor and immediately gave us an early check in. I was told we'd been upgraded to the Governor's Suite on the 26th floor, and my Cuz was upgraded to a Preferred King Suite Ocean View on the 15th floor with a great view of the pools as well. Being a UVC member has it's perks? Our Butler/Concierge Rosanne took Lucy and I up to the 26th floor and checked us in and gave us an overview of a huge 3 room Suite with a huge balcony facing north with a beautful view of the bay and the Gulf. Complete overkill and .. we loved it.
The next 3 days would be spent ordering room service, hanging out at the Preferred Infinity pool on the 12th floor, the restaraunts throughout the resort, down at the main level pool with a 4 person private Cabana with TV, Frig, loungers, chairs, sofa... well.. you get the visual. Beach was right there with the beautiful turgquoise water and white sand beaches. Our Concierges pool side were great. Our waiter (Fernando all 3 days!) was great. Hell, the whole experience was GREAT. Kicker is, I felt like I'd cheated Lucy out of a 5 Star experience, when we stumbled into one. Now....
