Cheap Flights

Image
For decades, I've been traveling 1-5 times a year out of the country, usually south of the border. We all learn a few tricks, acquire a few habits. My new 'obsession'.  Since buying into the UVC program , now the trick is ... cheapest way to get there and back; Mexico, DR,  Costa Rica, Jamaica, etc.  I've been reading blogs .. groups .. newsfeeds.  Even spent $7 on a downloaded 'book' the other day.   Five minutes into reading it...  it paid for itself 10x over.  Gave me some advice on how to use some 'secret/hidden' features of a few popular websites and..   tada' ... bingo.  Found the magic on my first try.  Now, there are dozens of other tricks out there.  But as I type this I'm looking at a cool feature I'd never seen before.  I've got my dates in there and walking up and down the depart and arrival times and able to zero into the best dates overall.  Where the F' has this been all my life?  Compare this...

Second trip in the last 90 days!   Good friends of ours asked for advice on where to go and we pointed them this direction; hands down the best!  When the smoke cleared, we booked via UVC and all four of headed down .... Flew into Tulum again since it's only like 45-55 mins door to door in the van.  We'd met up at DFW, slid into the Admirals Club for the Mimosas and Blood Marys and then 2.5 hrs later, landing in the beautiful country of Mexico.  Over the last 20 years, has never dissapointed.  Roll into Secrets, and its... home sweet home.  They get us down to the Preferred Club, sippin some cold ones, signed in and we're off to Building 4 (second from the beach) and into our Swimout rooms as advertised. The next seven days will be pool days, walks down the beach, snorkling for Rita and Barry, and great meals.  The final night, UVC set us up in the Wine Cellar room for a private B'day celebration (Barry's was the next day, mine is a couple o...

Mexico on a whim...

Ever since we joined UVC a few months ago ....   I can't help but ... 'search' for good deals!  Today and Yesterday I spotted two different, but great deals on the UVC site for Secrets Akumal .  About $2600 for a week for two at an awesome all inclusive?  Then I realized i needed to do a better job searching for flights when I came across Sun Country for less than $275 each round trip.  WTF? Part of the UVC 'game' is Price matching and Rollback pricing.  Bottom line .. fined it cheaper, you get a refund.  I've gotten two so far on our next trip basically saving more than 10% on it all. Not Bad!  Problem is .. looking for a Price Roll back I spot killer deals which then have me heading to our Calendar thinking .. .can I ? Should I?   Crazy... Made some reservations for Hualtaco about a week ago then went to make my flight reservations and got a wake up call.  AA's direct flights there from DFW are somewhat seasonal....

When it comes to finding the "best" all-inclusive resort in Mexico, it's highly subjective and depends on individual preferences like budget, whether you're traveling with family or adults-only, desired atmosphere (lively or tranquil), and specific amenities (spa, golf, nightlife). However, some resorts consistently receive high praise and are frequently listed among the top options. Based on recent reviews and popular lists, some of the top contenders for Best All-Inclusive Resort in Mexico include: La Casa de la Playa (Playa del Carmen): Often lauded for its luxurious, intimate setting with just 63 suites, personalized service, and exceptional dining experiences. It consistently tops "best of" lists. Grand Velas Riviera Maya (Playa del Carmen): Known for its spacious suites, multiple gourmet dining options, extensive spa, and family-friendly amenities while also offering an adults-only section. Hotel Xcaret Mexico / Hotel Xcaret Arte (Playa del Carmen):...
