Viva Las Vegas Insight 2024

Another one in the books.... been doing these trips for over two decades, with my main company / product. First five years were the Sales Meetings. Then engineering related meetings. In the end, they are always a great time for dozens of reasons. Most importantly you get to reconnect with your peers and folks you do business with. There is no substitute for it.

Last year, I opted for the MGM Signature towers... basically, 1 -2 Bedroom Condos. Their location is perfect, near the MGM convention center, but ..... out of the gambling mix/chaos. We were a 6/10th mile walk to the ARIA and Planet Hollywood. We were on the MGM casino property. In the mix, but not the BS. Still, next year I think I'll leverage some of the other properties I have points with.

The changeup this year was that Lucy joined me. In over two decades, she has never done one of my Vegas work trips. There have been others to DC, but never this one. Headed to DFW late morning, obligatory Admirals Club time, then flew in Sunday afternoon, checked in, cleaned up and met with the Fosters, Whiteheads and Davis's for a great dinner. After that, a nice relaxing evening in the room on the balcony overlooking the light show. sipping wine and prosecco. Crawl under the covers and a decent hour and .......

Monday I'm off to register for the event. Get everything taken care, some minimal sessions and off to hit the pavement. We'd visit several spots in the area via foot or uber, nice lunches , dinners, lots of drinks and every night, back in the room for a night cap. Monday night we'd spend with the Davis's, Tuesday night a happy hour with Dave Welder my NetApp POC for the event, then .... off with the Davis' for a final run on the town in the Cosmopolitan and several hotspots. In the mix, Lucy found the Prada store (ouch!), we made it over to the Paris Casino for her obligatory Vanderpump visit (was pretty nice!) ... and we'd finish off at a great party / bar spot for the evening. Still, made it home before a crazy hour and ...zzzzzzzzs

Noon check out, relaxing wait at the airport and we'd be in Rockwall eating dinner before 9pm. Home in bed by 11pm ... yet...... damned if we weren't both exhausted for the next 36 hours..... crazy!

Already got next years dates on the calendar.. .now ... we wait ....
