Louisville Kentucky via 2 Wheels

Louisville, KY .. here we come!  Had more than one person ask if I was Triking it out there after posting this last week >>> 3 Wheels <<< .   Nooooooooooo....    not sure if they were F'ing with me or just didn't actually read that last post... but ...  TWO WHEELS!  Wrote about the Iron Butt part of this in my CVMA Blog here >>> FTM <<<    When we decided to head out to the CVMA Nationals for 2022, I looked at the "Host Hotel" first but all the rooms were taken.  So, we did a quick head count of whom might go with us and made the decision to get a 2 Bdr Airbnb.  Quick glimpse and I found one down near the epicenter of downtown that looked like a winner.  Figured we could walk to a lot of places or grab an Uber for a short distance as necessary.  Dittels opted in, Kennedy's had a Mexico family trip planned.  Didn't realize how many others would eventually roll in so the small house it was.  Soon after that, Troy and Carrie s

Sometimes we move on to Trikes for health reasons.  Or it's just time for 'safety' reasons.   Or other times, because you just want to!   For me at this point, it's the latter; just because!  I remember many moons ago looking at bad ass chopper trikes with massive rear tires, cool paint, you name it. Always been a fan of the Indian trikes with their flowing lines.  Always drawn to the monster V8 trikes you see at Rallys....    All started about 24 years ago . I can remember back around '98 or '99 looking at Bid Dog Motorcycles and dreaming about owning one, one day. Cool bikes.  Around the same time, diff' manufacturer, saw what appeared to be a V8 Motorcycle and couldn't wrap my ahead around it...  thinking... is this real?   Then in 2004 I was down in Houston with a buddy and we went to the Boss Hoss Motorcycle Dealer and drooled over these monster bikes with 350s...383s.. .even 502 big blocks!   Few years after that I saw them at ROT and fell in love

High Velocity ... 392

.......    gotta admit, it's a beauty.   Some may not like the color .. but ...   sum bitch' that pops.   HIGH VELOCITY is what it's called.  Some pics show it with a touch of lime to it in the sun.  Others, Bright Yellow.  Either way ... sucker screams 'look at me?'.  Considered Firecracker Red, but mama doesn't like Red.   This one will have every option known to man  on it...   to include that 470 HP 392 Hemi lurking under that hood.  With the one touch power top, different experience as well.    Now ... .we wait.  And now, time to put Moby Dick ('02 TJ) up for sale 392 JLUR High Velocity Yellow Color Code: JF/WJF Build Sheet Weird thing ... this model says High Velocity Clear Coat as well?  Hmmmmmmmmmm...   could be interesting to see what it looks like in person.  Hell, even this variation is growing on me

Party at Dittel's

Just spent two weeks in MS for a JEEP event and family down from Nebraska with no break in between.   Always a good time, but ... we had to get back Saturday for Brother Dick and Holly whom were having a lil get together.  Donihue's had drove in the day before from Arkansas.  Orion/Fireshot/Pullout from our CVMA chapter rolled in as well, living nearby.  Two years ago I first saw Rockey Jones when he was playing at Steel Horse Rally.  This past year, Brother Dick ran into him twice and asked him to come to Texas to play at his home.  Well, damned if I'm going to miss that!  So Saturday morning, we load up and headed West. Rolled in around 1800 hrs as the grill was starting up; I think them folks had a big head start on me and I had some catching up to do!  Six pack of ice cold beer later, floating around listening to Rocky crank out some tunes ...   you just knew it was going to be a great night.  Few of Dicks' neighbors were unable to make it due to summer travel out of to

Indian Riders Fest 2022 - Just Ride

Image
This past week was a historical one for Indian Motorcycle.  This has been on my radar for some time now; Tamara Smith attended a few years back and to say I was a lil Jelly about that is an understatement.  These guys are doing it right; impressive!  They have Indian Motorcycle Corporate Support, evident by the IMRG participation throughout Europe.  With over 1200 bikes in attendance, it's not only the biggest Indian Motorcycle event in Europe but in the World, by far.  That's double want the Gregory Polaris had back in '19 which was 3x other events previously.   Cool part of this is it's a full blown rally over a weekend with no drama, no MF'ing other events, no bragging trying to be something it's not.   With concert(s), biker related events, rides, you name it...  whom with an Indian Motorcycle wouldn't want to attend?  The only thing stopping me personally is my CVMA schedule is pretty full, and ...  I'd want to spend a few weeks over there, not a fe

Jeeps... JeePs .. and more JEEPS!  Was it ONE thousand?  FIVE thousand.......  never seen an official count....  but it rocked. Well, our third time here ... and worth it! Once last year's came to an end, we were planning on this one.  Of course, with our 2nd home at the epicenter here in MS, it's sort of a no brainer.  We did offer our home up for others, but they couldn't make it.  Mark Kennedy had a Doc' appt that couldn't wait so they pulled out a week prior.  Doug Washabaugh had an emergency situation and had to pull out at last moment.  Davis's were able to make it from Arkansas.   We rolled in a week early from Texas with Lucy's Jeep (Rita) on a trailer.  We'd talked about just driving it, but we had too many things that wouldn't fit in it this trip so rolled it on my car hauler and headed down the road.  The plan is to get a high end DS18 system installed while down here at 'show' prices; well .. that was the plan anyways.  So a week
