Excessive? ... I prefer 'Extreme'

Image
I've been called Excessive at times.   Heard "hoarder" jokingly over the last few years. Definitely 'messy.' ... no matter how one looks at it, I'm wired a notch different from the average person .. I've always known that.  Good or Bad, I've prided myself on it.  Never been one to just go along with the flow .. the group.   As I found myself thinking of this today .......  found myself wondering .. when did it begin?  When did the trait expose itself? At a minimal/low level, I'd have to say when back when I was 13, it started.  Funny when I think about it .. because in someways .. I show it, other ways I don't.  As an example, I've talked about how when I was 13, I got blindsided by two HS Seniors and ended up with a broken jaw. After that, I began lifting weights and taking martial arts.  In some ways I was excessive, other ways I wasn't.  I mean I devoured literature on the subject of weightlifting and nutrition, but didn't alway

The definition of Insanity

First of the year, I normally make jokes about people back in the gym ... last a month ... then ... start again .. next January.  Poor bastards usually signed up for a Gym Membership they are stuck paying for a year .. or two ..   At least Planet Fitness has a solution for the weak; monthly dues. But, they still stick 'em for a one time fee of about $30 or $40 .. knowing .. the majority will simply cancel, at least after a few months of the monthly dues being deducted from their checking before they realize the mistakes of their ways.... until next year. But I digress as usual. Got back in the gym last week finally.  I bet once or twice a year I do a blog post along this path.  Back in the gym!  Losing weight! Feeling great! Making Progress! ... then... I go quiet.  Back went out.  Took a few business trips and a Vaca trip and lost my way to the the gym entrance apparently.  Fall off the KETO diet and ...   plump up a few pounds.  Well, I'm back in there and sadly I have a rea

Annual Security Refresher Training

I've held a clearance in some form or another for the past 40 years with the Federal Government. After that long, you know what you can and can't do.  No brainer.   Took me a whole thirty minutes to get through it and answer the test with a passing score. I could have passed it taking the test without the review.  At the same time, you see what goes in the real world... the Deep State .. and have to question who the fuck is at the Helm? Example ...  Back in September 2016, a revelation surrounding Hillary surfaced. Within hours of the Sept. 26, 2016, search warrant , FBI technicians noticed there were 340,000 emails on the laptop between Clinton and her top aide, Weiner’s wife Huma Abedin — many of them from domain addresses such as “hillaryclinton.com” and “state.gov.”   Now ... the important part is here is the first domain.  I've stated dozens of times... If I ever sent classified email through my 'lossner.com" email/domain, I would NOT have a clearance and I&#

WiFi Gate

Image
FINALLY!   Guessing I've had my Gate at the entrance to my property for about a decade now. Gives an extra layer of security for obvious reasons.   Over the years, I've come up with solutions for when I'm out of town, but that generally involves the help of a neighbor. Otherwise, I end up with a pile of mail/boxes inside the fence line and with crappy weather, never a good outcome. One of my neighbors has a newer install so of course they have the 'fancy' WiFi Smartphone option.  It's gotten me to looking for solutions short of a new system for awhile now. I became interested in this again so.............. I've spent several days trying to find an option.  In it's simplest form, I envisioned some type of box that resides in Line of Sight with the gate, that had Wifi and when I initiated it, it would send an RF signal with the code that we currently use via garage door openers.  But...   apparently nobody has come up with that version of a solution to dat

Carport to Garage

Image
Project is finally done! Over 25 years ago, we moved here to Texas onto some acreage, smaller home .... but a ways out of town and no 'close' neighbors.   But.. when first bought ...   that was it.  Small home on property.  No garage.  No driveway. No fence.  Just ... the home.  Worked for me!    As time would go on we'd add on twice, erect a few other buildings, dig a hole for a pool, pour a lot of concrete, add a lot of fence.  Our first major project was the carport. Dave Costello was a buddy of mine in the USAF; we'd served together at a couple of locations.   I was on a tight budget and he offered to build me a carport for a fair price.   When the smoke cleared we had a 24x36 Carport next to the house and finally somewhere to park vehicles out of the rain.  Easily fits 4 vehicles!  I liked the idea of a carport vs a garage for multiple reasons.  First was  the cost.  Second, allowed air flow during the hot summer months.  Winters here are mild so I didn't have

AIRBNB IPO

Image
Well, that was a first.  I've wanted to get it on IPOs in the past but I was either .. not in the position to .. or .. well.. didn't understand the process.  In a perfect world, one is an insider and has a fast track to shares so when the opening bell rings, there's a good chance one is in the money!  The rest of us ... are buying them after the prices normally shoot through the roof!   Well, AirBnB announced it would be IPOing this week and I was frothing at the mouth a lil.  I've been using AirBnB more often and even considered flipping one of my homes into one, as a Host.  I really like their process from a customer perspective and ...  looks like from a Host perspective it rocks.  So, it had my attention. So, after over thinking this .... I sucked up to mama yesterday morning and ...  attempted to explain 'our' case as to why we should be buying in.  The shares were forecasted to open up at about $65 a share so we could move a couple bux from savings over to
