Jeeping the Coast 2020

Image
I've owned Jeeps since 1986, almost as long as motorcycles.   Those two entities have been part of my life for almost 2/3rds of my time on this planet, so I get a lil' passionate about both subjects. The previous two years, we did Jeep Topless Weekend down on the coats here in Texas.  As I've blogged about previously, it's morphed into a reckless party of thugs from Houston in my opinion.  Lots of Jeeps .. but... not what it started out as. I swore 'no more' and didn't attend this year (it was officially canceled due to COVID, but still went down).   However last year, my nephew down in Mississippi asked us to attend JTC (Jeeping The Coast) but we pushed back. After seeing the pics and stories afterwards, I committed to this years.   With all the Wuhan Virus BS causing cancellations we were concerned.    Ten days or so prior, we realized we had good reason to be.  The local city sponsoring it, pulled the plug. That means vendors, bands, everything.. was canc

My Debate "secret"

Image
I tend to mix words often with folks on social media. However, I prefer Face to Face debates; much more interesting.  First, when in person most normally stay calm since ...    either are at risk of getting the shit kicked out of them if they cross the line?  Seriously ... when having a debate face to face, people tend to be a notch cordial, though possibly "passionate" sometimes.  But you have the advantage of eye contact.   Body language.   And, folks have to discuss what they know, not what they search for at their fingertips to validate their points.  I may not 'win' all debates, but ...  they normally go well. However on Social Media, that's another beast.  I tend to drop a lot of one liners on news posts.  Replies to comments.  You name it, I'm guilty.   I'll go back and forth a few times then.. maybe even push buttons with a comment or meme .. but then ...  I move on.  If the person goes sideways, I normally check out their profile page.  Within sec

Adam Sandavol : Indian Motorcycle Proponent

Image
Few years ago, I became aware of Adam Sandavol.   I'd seen a couple of videos of him on his HDs, riding across the country apparently hitting every single dealership in the US if I remember right.  Met him in Dallas at a Vet related motorcycle event (22Kill).  Then, back in '18 I participated in the HD world record attempt.  Soon after that, he was riding an Indian Chieftain and loving the Indian Motorcycle brand.  Then his girlfriend was hooked on the Indian brand and he was riding an Indian Motorcycle Challenger model which he praised over the HD Roadglide.  A twist for me last year was after the Gregory 500+ was announced to set an Indian Motorcycle World Record Ride, he later announced another HD attempt on the same friggin day.  Got to admit I was pissed for personal reasons because I wanted to do both! As much as I hate puttin' around in a circle for 4 miles, I usually have ulterior motives on my part.  For the 2019 Indian event I wanted to see hundreds of my friends

Indian Motorcycle International, LLC- Intellectual Property

Image
(updated 23JUN20) Got an email few days ago from Corporate.  It started off with "We represent Polaris Industries Inc. and Indian Motorcycle International, LLC (“Polaris” and “IMI” collectively) in connection with intellectual property matters."   As a major share holder in PII Stock, and hardcore fanatic of Indian Motorcycles, and aware of all the crazy BS that has gone down with the brand the last few decades (well.. one could argue over a century), the email got my attention.  I'm aware how folks got shut down quickly after the '11 purchase of the brand.   Why me you ask?  Because I have an LLC called "Texas Indian Riders"/"Texas Indian Bikers" . Additionally, a FB Page of the same name with a very large 'base' of followers over the years.   And, I've pushed my luck a lil' to be honest .......... Well, I connected up with their legal team yesterday and had a professional conversation of the issues(s) at hand with the Texas Indi
