Anyone else see this all the time on Facebook?  If you're part of a group(s), you probably see it often! I don't know what it is, but some folks just do NOT understand the basics of privacy settings within Facebook.  I've posted  hints, posted pics, walked folks through it via PMs, via Phone Calls, and after the 3rd.. or 4th .. or...  well, they usually get the point.  Then the following day, they do it again. If I'm on my desktop, I'll post this: "The source you shared , whether it be a picture or a status , or ??  .. had permissions tied to it and wasn't publicly shared.  This is common when sharing from another group that we don't all belong to , or from a friend's page that isn't a mutual friend, and they aren't sharing it publicly. The simplest thing to do is if it yours, change the permissions to PUBLIC.  Or,  save the pic to your computer/smart phone,  and upload here for all to see, or to copy past the status or URL

31 Years in the Saddle

I've always loved my toys ( "He whom dies with the most toys wins!" was/is my mantra) , but riding bikes back then was just part of havin

Ok.. that didn't go over so well...?

I posted a question asking why they deleted the previous thread.. and .. they deleted my post.. again! So, I did a quick rant.  After hitting 'post', my previous post pops up .. magically.. so I quickly deleted the below... but.. apparently not quick enough.... banned!  lol

HD vs Indian vs Victory : Will HD Lose Market Share?

Yesterday I got sucked into a discussion and after this long answer ( below ) , I for some reason saved it off in a file.  Apparently, the heat was a lil' more than a few HD Lovers could stand, so they deleted the entire thread.   Wow.. Really?  Good news is I kept it ... so wtf, I'll share. The QUESTION is .. over the next 10 years, can Indian Motorcycle sales hurt Harley Sales.... The unequivocal answer is :YES . Indian isn't going to put HD out of business, and vice versus ( well, not this time around, but that's another story that most don't know/understand) . The HD hardcore are misguided by the love of their Iron in their garage. Many of the Indian hardcore rant for similar reasons. To get on a soapbox, what makes my opinion diff' from most others? I own stock in HOG and PII. I have HD , Indian and Victory bike(s) in my garage right now as I type this. Trust me when I say, most people just don't get it , with these arguments. The Slingshot…….. Post ride report

I love Motorcycles.    I love Corvettes.  I love Jeeps ... and now.. the SS Flying in to Little Rock to pick up the Slingshot, I wondered if I was going to find myself going in a different direction, away from my addiction to my Vette. I mean, this obviously competes head on with Sports Cars… right?      When I first saw the Slingshot on the ‘net and later in person 2 months ago, I couldn’t shake that feeling that … it was too futuristic.   Looked ‘stumpy’ in the rear.   Might not be comfortable with the hard plastic looking seats. Well, I was wrong... on all accounts!  Have to admit, when I walked into the Gregory Polaris showroom and sat in my new SS for the first time, I was questioning my sanity.   I was about to finalize the deal on something I don’t’ need.   It serves no real purpose to me other than … pure fun.   Had I gone too far this time?    On the first ride, Rob and I took it out for a quick run up the road and back.   I’d find myself doing this almost

Slowly dropping....

Down under 293. Haven't been 'dieting' .  Haven't been working out.  Just watching my portions. Careful not to get too crazy over dark beers. Guessing by December will be under 290......   Somebody put me out of my misery if I ever hit 300 again!

Difference between me and them

Found myself looking at a few Facebook pages today. I can't help but think the difference between myself and so many others is simply when I want something I just do it. I know it sounds materialistic but whenever I want something I just set my mind to it. Make a goal and make a plan I don't just dream about it ; I actually go after it. And it's not just materialistic things, it's everything in life. Whether it be traveling or has to do with my job..... hell just Life. Now in all fairness,  sometimes I create stress levels that don't need to be there. But my idea of a good time is not sitting on the front porch drinking a cold beer in the afternoon or just a cup of coffee in the morning. I do love those things , but they are not my sole idea of Life So here I sit having my first cup of coffee in the morning enjoying the beautiful Texas morning listening to the birds, thinking too much, surfing the internet, sipping my java, rambling away here in my own little

Reboot Day Two

This sucks.  My mind is on work, not making Juice.  Lucy is not 100% , so she's not in there making it. Hungry ...   lil bit of a headache...   few more days of this until I find my groove. How the hell did I let my weight creep back up to 300 or so? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

REBOOT! Juice time....

Damned I've been slacking.... Riding the 'cycle ...    Traveling...  injuries ( my excuse for not being in the gym )  ...  blah blah blah.. Well.. here we go (again).  Day 1 of juicing.. how far will I make it?  Hopefully 10 days...  made it 7 days last time and felt like a million bucks.. Weighting approx 300lbs as I type this.  Buzzed my hair off almost 2 years ago as punishment! ( something like that )  .   Still haven't gotten back into my 38 waist pants.  I'm assuming that bodyweight will be under 280 to get me into them. Will this be the beginning of finally getting back into them?  I hope so...........

Group Ride .. Pet Peeves

Large Group Rides... to Ride or not to Ride... that is the question Over the years, I’ve become somewhat opinionated on this subject.   When I ride with my buddies, there are usually less than 10 bikes... so it’s manageable.    But several times a year, I find myself on some of the big rides.   You know the ones.   The Toy Rides in December.   Charity rides for children, some for fighting diseases, some to help others in need.    Many of us look at these as opportunities to help, others to ride with fellow riders, others as simply an excuse to get out and ride.   But, big rides (ex. 50+ bikes) expose the problems and dangers of riding with fellow bikers. Here are some of my thoughts. A few of my pet peeves. First, the Good!   .   I’ve been on several rides that had Police Escorts.   Police Block the  major intersections and other potential trouble spots along the way.   Thank you!    They went smoothly… Went Perfect.   Without a hitch.   No cagers trying to kill us.    Ke

Why a Slingshot?

First things First... This is called a Motorcycle.  It's Not. Or, maybe it is.  It's technically a Trike , which  qualifies it as a Motorcycle in the US . Calling it a Trike stills drives a few nutz. Calling it a Motorcycle pushes the hardcore biker off the deep end! Ok, lets be honest.  It's a 3 wheeled car, that doesn't have to meet all the BS safety regulations due to it being, legally, a Trike.  So, it's legally a Motorcycle.  Still with me? It's got 2 wheels up front, 1 in back.  Remember when the CanAm Spyder came out and we were all scratching our heads?   Same concept except the passengers sit side by side. So, you can use the HOV lanes in heavy traffic; by ourself.  You can attend motorcycle rallys ( that'll piss a few off ) .  You can ride with or without a helmet ( well, depends on your motorcycle helmet laws).  Mostly, you get to be different and have some crazy fun! So, we can agree that legally.. technically... its a Bike.  Ok..

Why do I Ride?

Just read a heart wrenching summary of a Riders' recovery after a near fatal accident about 2 years ago....   Additionally, this morning, I learned of some friends losing their son last night in a bike accident ( still shook up about that one ) ...    Some folks question 'why we ride' ...  Is it safe? .. is it smart? .. is it...., you get the point. We ride because its who we are.  Some of ride with helmets.. some without.  Some in full riding gear, some not so much .  It's who we are....it's our choice .. If I was going to worry about the 'dangers' of Riding a bike all the time.... I'd be giving in to our primal fears.   I'd sell the bike(s) .  I'd sell the sports car.  .. I'd just drive around in my F350 Dually .. maybe with some extra metal on the Front Bumper to protect my paint when running over the imports and other inadequate vehicles on the roadways... but ...   I don't worry. Life is Short... enjoy it and love those around
