Get Off My Grass!

Damned.. that was work!   About thirty days ago, made the decision to change up permissions on my main social media app.  First course of business was to restrict most of those within a certain circle.  Got to admit, I fucking hated doing that.   But due to circumstances, felt it was the best thing to do.  Problem is we are talking about a LOT of profiles.  Lets just say ... it took awhile. Step 2 was snoozing these profiles, pages, groups.   I didn't want to unfollow them since that's a real bitch to undo down the road, so I snoozed them for 30 days.  However, 2 days ago they started popping up again... so .. another 30 days.... then will have to do it probably twice more before I go back to 'normal'.   Like I said.... this shit is work!   Supposed to be enjoyable and informative... now...  just puts a bad taste in my mouth.   But ... shit happens.  All good.  As  I said in the last blog post... allows me to refocus on the rest of things in life. Now... off to go do s

I used to think that I had a hoarding problem of sorts.  I'm really bad about collecting things sometimes.   I first noticed this with NASCAR, and realized it's with pretty much anything I touch/experience Working out. Back when I was 13 shit went sideways in a scuffle with .. I can't resist...  two racists (true .. of course never used that term back then)... and I came out on the losing end.  Hey .. I was freshman and they were seniors.  My excuse and I'm sticking with it.  On the upside I began taking marital arts and lifting weights.   Lets just say . it was the last time I ever came out on the wrong side of a fist fight.  As every year went by, I spent more time in the gym.   I probably peaked at about 23 to 28 age time frame, but still continued to work out hours a day until my 30s.   Around 40, I slowed down but wasn't until about 50 that .. it was on the back burner in the big picture.  I still work out, but .. .not enough.  I've got a commercial qualit

Finally ordered a safe for the MS location since I've built up a lil' arsenal down there.  I checked the big box stores but they were pricey and you still had to load them up and haul them home or pay high dollar shipping.  And, these damned things have gone up in price.  So when you see them on sale and there is no shipping costs, score!   This is the 4th I've gotten from COSTCO on sale and delivered.   That first one I'd purchased, I wish I'd bought a half dozen of them.  It's a beast and was a killer price.  Hell, I think it was the same price as this smaller one, and 3x capacity, twice the weight.   Whether it be weapons, ammo, lil petty cash there's a value to having one of these.  Can't believe it took me until about a decade ago to get my first. Now... if they'd just drag it upstairs and put it in it's future spot.  I don't see that happening!

Jeep Life

Ordered some stickers for the windows and badges for the fenders of several jeeps ... and .. .it got me to thinking. I've been fanatical about Jeeps for almost four decades now.  Knew I'd written about this a lil before ....  but...  continuing the journey ... Sticker for the rear window.  Got 4 different colors Fender badge Previously written posts .. It's a Jeep thing ... .. It's a Jeep thing ....(part 2)   And a few others here  . .   Since then .... few things have changed. I made the tough decision to sell my '02 TJ (Dusty) to my cousin.  The cool part is after he had it shipped to FL, he did some upgrades and fixes then shipped it to Puerto Rico where it now resides at his new home. Looking forward to a trip there this year and see him, Darlene.. and ... Dusty! I'd bought that to do some hard core 4 wheeling but ... only had it out once, in AZ early last year.   In retrospect, wish I'd pushed it a lil harder. "gray wolf" in MS We picked up a

Expired over 4 months ago.  I tend to roll at excessive speeds so was a lil' concerned about it biting me in the ass.  Tried to setup appointments but either the website didn't work, I had a calendar conflict, or.....   eventually I just forgot about it.   Headed back from MS this past Thursday and Lucy reminds me I need to get it done.  I tell her about my predicament. So, she pulls up a search engine on her iPhone and starts surfing.  Twenty to thirty minutes later she's made progress and is telling me they only have an opening over two months out at the usual locations... but  .. Emory has one in the morning. Emory?  I had no idea they did this ... 28 years here, and no idea. Well, 0815 I've got an appointment.    Headed out a notch early and stopped in at Sidekicks. It was a topic of discussion on the way home as well. One of only two places in Hunt, Raines or Rockwall county we are aware of that has a "No Colors" sign up.  But, she also noticed they serve

Okay .. here's one for you .... You take a certain road to work every day.  It has a posted 65 MPH limit. But up ahead is a 55 mph yellow sign, before a winding corner in the road.  Everyone knows that it's technically still 65, but 55 mph is probably the safest. In fact, if you are pulling a trailer or driving a big truck .. .well, maybe 55 is the best speed.  Hell, that sign may also say "All Trucks 55mph"   But, you drive a Jeep Wrangler with big tires and have always been fine.   Well, on Monday they change the law on the books to say if anyone else is doing 55mph, then you must be doing 55mph. And, if you have larger than 33" tires, you must do 55mph.  However, that law that has changed, is on the books and available at the courthouse to review, but you nor anyone you know locally has heard of the new law.  The signs up don't mention it of course. Well, by Friday the PoPo have given you a ticket for this.  You pointed out all the obvious, but ... its the

Over the last decade we've done this about a half dozen times.  Park the alcohol intake for a month and do a reality check.  The first time we did it I didn't want to.  Seemed pointless.  But when the smoke cleared felt really good.  Helped me put certain things in a better perspective.  I guess for some, ensures they don't have an actual problem.  I knew I didn't but yet I didn't want to do it so that made me wonder about myself as a minimum.  Nowadays, I view it as a 'reboot' of sorts. In the past the problem was always my 'schedule'.   Had a business trip with buddies that like to put them back.  Trip to Mexico at an All Inclusive.   Someone had a party scheduled.  A bike trip .. something.  But this year, nothing on the calendar. In fact I've had two sets of friends ask if we want to do a weekend with them but I'm pushing back without getting into all this. I've got at least three other people joining me in this endeavor.  Hell, I'
