South Padre Island. CVMA related . When I heard about this last year, I was thinking .. "ALL IN!" .  I'd never been to the South Side of Padre Island. Been to Corpus Christi a few times, and drove out to the north end.. but...  that was it.  I've always heard it come up as a Spring Break destination, but not much else.  Well, C VMA's 2020 Texas State meeting was announced to be here so ...  in! The host hotel is the Pearl Resort which looks good on 'paper' so .. what the hell. As we get closer to the actual date, I'm forced to make a decision.  Ride or Drive? I want to do the ride vs trailer the bike down, but I'm a notch concerned about weather.  I don't mind a lil' rain, but we've been dealing with hurricanes and as luck would have it, Hurricane Delta is in the gulf the same time frame.  However, our plans to ride look to be viable so ... game on   I've been planning this for awhile and had it all put together, posting about it

Originally posted October 19, 2020 via my CVMA alt Blog  Sum Bitch ...  State was last week .   Chapter 23-1 has State for 2021 and did a great job of getting it out there within well... a week.  Email came out yesterday at 1300 hrs.   For many/most of us, we were busy .. doing shit.  Me, I was on a motorcycle.  Last thing I was doing was checking email.  By 1515 hrs, a second email comes out and says ALL 130 rooms are booked at the host hotel already.  One has to assume, 23-1 was cocked and loaded to grab 'em all?  Maybe I'm wrong ( wouldn't blame them btw) .. but .. damned. Well... after a ride .. some time in the hot tub .. watching some TV ...   I realize what info I've been .. well. unaware of so I jump on the laptop and ...   not only is the Hilton ( host ) locked down, but the Hampton is 100 % booked.  So, I'm on a call back list now with the Best Western while reviewing AirBnB options of a few homes nearby .   Have to admit I fo
