Rocket III - Sold!

Bought this bike about 8 years ago for the sole purpose of scaring the shit out of myself.  This was the bike to do it...... with 140 ci of smooth power and stump pulling torque ...   I used to take it out and push the limits, every time I rode it.  Eventually though, I tamed it.  So, it was basically parked gathering dust.  If someone visited and needed a bike to ride, this was the one.  I didn't have a deep emotional attachment to it like I do my Indians for some reason. It's an awesome, beautiful bike ... but.... .. I never connected at that deep level with it.  Man I wished I'd had it in the early days before I got my first Indian; maybe I'd have enjoyed it more.   Well,  back around 2016 I sold it to a local guy who let it sit for nine months... then he asked me if I'd buy it back for $1k less than he paid for it... SOLD!  Hahaha.  Since then, only put a few miles on it. Well, over the last several weeks, I've got two more Chieftains that have joined the

It's finally here....   the wait is over!  Rob Gregory gave me a killer deal last month , I stacked a crap load of accessories on it that are about 1/4 the cost of the bike itself ...   and she's ready (well almost... rear speaker lids are on back order). Junior pulled up yesterday afternoon... immediately pulled it out.. gave me the 'new stuff' overview .. and ... I'm smiling and giddy like a lil kid at Christmas.  Then ... parked it in the garage to ride ... soon.     The second part of this trip .. and actually the more important part .. he's going to do some work on my Slingshot. I've had it for the better part of seven years... it's low mileage...   excellent condition .. but.. a fucking field mouse made a lil ' home behind the stereo and chewed up a couple of wires.  After about thirty minutes he splices a few cables, we get it started and we opt to stick it in the trailer to head to AR.  There, they can do a few of the recalls that were due o

Indian Motorcycle of Little Rock (Gregory Polaris)

KROME Let's ratchet back to 2013.  I bought my first of the new generation of Indian's (I like to refer to them as the Spirit Lake generation ) from up north due to the minimal amount of dealers at the time (big mistake on my part).  I had no idea one of the TOP dealers in the country was only a few hundred miles to the east of me in Little Rock, AR.  They'd been churning out four wheelers, side by sides and Victory motorcycles like they were going out of style (well, Victory did.. but.. that's another story) for years. Hell, he's pretty much the NUMBER ONE Polaris dealer in the US at the time (and continues to be).  After I'd ordered my 2014 Chieftain, I saw a social media post about the Little Rock dealership expanding and now selling Indians.  I had no clue that THIS was the place I should have bought my bike, but I would soon afterwards. Fast forward through the last 8 years.... Bought one of the first slingshots in the country from them back in Nov 2014. I

House Swapping - Part II

Image
Few weeks ago wrote about our latest escapade; selling a home in Galveston and purchasing one on the coast in Mississippi : House Swapping . What I didn't mention in that blog post is we hadn't closed on the home yet.  We flew in from Mexico last Wednesday, got some rest then jumped in our vehicle and headed to Mississippi Friday morning.  We had a house to close on that afternoon!  Up at 0600 hrs we rolled, pulling in 8 hours later to a home we had never seen in person until then; talk about stress.  I mean ... what if ... we pulled up and said "oh hell no!" .. hey ... could have happened.  But actually the opposite happened.  The home was nicer than we'd imagined. The current homeowner and our realtor were there for our walk through.  This home is seven years old and pristine.  All the appliances are top end.  All the plumbing fixtures are top end. We had zero issues with anything. Every corner I went around, I saw things that were above and beyond what I thoug
