In Search of Better Health: Part V

Image
Man, really expected to be posting something different, but it's almost the same story as the previous Blog post on this subject. The good news is my weight is 100% in check.  Not going down, but not going up.  Been on Business trips, Mexico trips, and living the good life here locally riding. Rode to a few Bike Rallies as well. Spent a lot of time down in Galveston which always has me 'relaxing' on my my regimen. Lot of this Spring /Summer hanging at the pool. Why post now?   I was actually going to name this post " The Reverse Workout " which is what I've been thinking about the last few weeks.  What the hell is that one might ask?   Well, for me it's getting the lower back completely warmed up with some chiropractic style finesse.  Then, hitting the Aerobic machine(s), and finally the weights.  Big deal, right?  Well for me it is.  It's the exact opposite of the way I've trained my entire life. Normally a short warm up before hitting the

My second '47 Indian is SOLD!

I've owned it less than a month, and it's found a new owner!  Last month I'd wrote about a killer deal I got on a '47 Indian .  Before I got it to it's new home, it's found another and I couldn't be happier with the whole process.  I have too admit, I was questioning the 'value' of getting it since I never ride my current '47 but I couldn't pass up the killer price I got it at. On another note, it's got me re-looking at my current '47 and scheming to get it 100% checked out and take it out and put a few miles on it and certain events and pull it into a few shows.  In the big picture, this is all a WIN WIN!

Gregory's Indian 500+ July Update

Image
The Greogry 500+ .  My favorite subject this year. Wow.   I have to admit when this all kicked off I wasn't 100% in.  I thought it could be another weak attempt, etc. but I would support it because of relationships I have.  I was wrong.   I think a lot of folks, unlike myself, didn't grasp how hard it'd be to get folks to line up to register and show up, but they do now.   It's always amazed me how so many people are disconnected among us as to events going on, no matter how many times your remind them or put a flyer in front of them. Seems like on a daily basis I come across people that have never heard of the event or maybe heard, but don't know where or when.  Huh?? That being said, this is accelerating.  Things are getting exciting!  Lil' over a week ago, the magic minimum number was surpassed.  A week later, we had 10% more Bike Registrants. Of the total, as I type this 15+% of those attending are with the Iron Indians (IIRA).  We are bringing them all

Headed North to MN

As usual, wasn't going to head up there again .... but....  here we go! This will make it the 7th year in a row!  Donnie and I are rolling out soon with bikes to ride with the local IIRA chapter up there and a few others to have a good time where the days are hot and nights are cold. I've got great friends up there whom's friendships have become part of my life. You riding with us?  Message me and I'll get the info to you as the folks up there compile more info on the rides and festivities.  Going to be an awesome time as always! ___________________________________________   | My 2017 TRIP    |  My 2018 TRIP  |

Gregory Indian 500+ Update

Image
Here we are going into July with just three more months to go until the biggest Indian Motorcycle Rally in the USA this year. As I'd mentioned before at the core of it is the Gregory's Indian 500+ ; a Guinness record ride for most Indian Motorcycles in a Parade.  The current record is 274.  An attempt was made last August in Racine and last month up north, both having less than 200 bikes.  Well, the record is about to be Krushed with over 275 bikes now registered with 90 days to go.  Momentum is now kicking up so the question now is , how big will this be?  I'm guessing at least 400 but I've got a feeling this may actually surpass 500 bikes .  Last month in Europe they had between 400 to 500 bikes that would have set the bar high but opted not to go through the process (this process has a level of BS one has to do to make it official).   Well, the folks are doing this October ride by the book this year after the last two records were recorded with numerous idiosyncra

IIRA Reunion in the Hill Country #iirahillcountry

Many of the folks attending made it into the pic What a week!  Seems like it'd never get here, then suddenly it was upon us.  Late last year we all voted on several options and Texas by far got most of the votes.  It wouldn't disappoint, but I know for a fact more than a few weren't quite ready for the heat.  It was a notch hotter than normal this time of the year, but cooled down as the weekend approached.  The vast majority truly enjoyed it and would probably return if it's here in 2020.  If it does return to this location, I'm sure we'll find another host hotel that can handle our event in the manner some would prefer.  Still, I'll be at the YO Ranch next year if that is where we end up.  I had a great room; great location! Headed South to the Hill Country | R&R Several days before the ride down, the Dittels rolled in from Minnesota to hang with us for a few days.  That in itself was a full blown vaca'  hanging out in the pool everyday
