Headed down to the Island last week, for the Third Coast Music Festival.    I believe it was the first time they've held it; 40 bands, 8 + venues, 50 performances.   The weather was perfect the entire time, gulf was calm and spectacular and ..... had a damned good time!  Temps were in the 70s during the day, 60s at night.  What more can one ask for? Icing on the cake was we got to spend some time with family that has moved down here from MN recently.   They are in the process of buying a house and sealing the deal. Two days of playing with these guys on the beach and in the water, had the body aching and moaning reminding me ...  well...   I ain't getting younger! Road Trip! Always a "Do I " .... or .. "Don't I?"   This is the fifth year in a row that a weekend has been put together by a guy out of Dallas that used to do this exact thing with Honda's for years.  When he got an Indian, he just 'flipped' the concept over to Indians.  Pick a Hotel, make a few dinner reservations, select a few ride options; advertise it and they will come.  And they do .. sort of Year one, I was looking forward to attending but we were closing on a property that Friday.  No Go.  But I'm about to get a view into an interesting world of the organizer of this event.  Drama year 1 happens with Adam C. as the victim.  Year 2, I was planning on going with a buddy ( Denny G) that was caught in Drama year 2 , but had to cancel due to the same property I'd closed on the previous year had some storm damage.  Year 3, I didn't give a shit and refused to go.  Year 4 , I got a call from Hork,  a buddy of mine who convinced me to head d...

Damned.. what a day.  Been a crazy winter/spring for most of us.  The nightmare is still going on for some.  But here in Texas, my god it's awesome today.   Lil nippy first thing this morning but by noon, mama and I were having Salads out around the pool basking in the sun.  By the time I was done eating, was thinking 'damned its' warm! " .. and .. it wasn't. Guessing it was in the upper 70s right about them.  Perfecto! After a few hours of work, pulled Krome out of the building and headed out of it's annual inspection so I could get tags on it.  Dear mother of god, it's gorgeous out there!   Only did a total of maybe...  30 miles.. but I wanted to disappear for ten times that.  I'd forgotten how it felt to be cruising in a warm glowing sun, only wind coming from the speeds one achieves; and that I did.  Scooting the back-roads between 70 and 100, the only thing slowing me down was them yellow buses with blinky lights....

For over a decade, I've attended NASCAR races at Texas Motor Speedway.    From day one we started camping vs just attending the races daily.  We rented an RV trailer, then purchased an ultra light one.   We quickly found ourselves by ’07 in a 30’ FW.   Year later, in an ’40 FW Toy Hauler.    Today, we pull out a 43’ Toy Hauler.   I sometimes miss the simpler days, but I’m not going backwards, now!   Over the last dozen years or so, we’ve also attended Vegas, Charlotte, Sonoma, Talladega and Phoenix.    They all have their own personalities and I’ve enjoyed them all.    Several years ago we gave up our Season Tickets due to a conflict with a Bike Rally.   We had some awesome tickets in Row 23 that were in a great location.   Mistake.   We also were part of a large group of friends that all trailered out RVs bi-annually.   When we pulled out of the mix, most everyone did as well.   I guess ...
