Jeep'n Arizona!

Well .. sort of like that Back in '20 we were supposed to take our RV out that way to Mesa AZ with a Polaris General we'd just gotten to fit in the RV's garage but ...  things went sideways.  My back was in a bad place and we head to cancel.  Didn't do it last year (but Lucy went out for a week with her Sis) .  But 2022 would be our year; finally! Lucy's brother for many years pulls his RV down from the North and parks it down there at an 'old fucker' RV resort (his words not mine) and we'd finally get that way ourselves.  He does this for 3 months at a time which has me a lil' Jelly!  That was my plan back in '20 which wasn't to be.  The twist this year; this time though he was at the RV park, we'd (4 of us) rent an Airbnb that allowed all the dogs we were bringing in, about twenty minutes away from him. I bought an '02 TJ Wrangler (Moby Dick) few years ago to beat the shit out of .. but hadn't .. yet.  Last year, I had the Gene

Jeep Grand Wagoneer : Part II

Last month, I did an initial post/review HERE ; today a follow-up at the 6800 mi mark. Some of my initial thoughts were that this thing is BIG.  It is!  Today I had a loaner 1500 with a Hemi (Brand New) and it seemed small in comparison.  I'd considered getting a 1500/2500 instead before going down this path; so glad I didn't now. Power: This thing has SERIOUS power via a 6.4 liter 392ci 475 HP V8. It's a pig on gas, but who gives a damned.  But in all fairness, if you putt around at 65mph, it's firing on only 4 cylinders and closer to 18-20mpg; but who does that?  So, my opinion after 6800miles:  I friggin' love it, more and more each time I drive it.  I'm a fairly large guy and it fits me perfect.  Roomy as hell, comfortable as hell.  With normally just the two of us plus lil peanut whom comes in around 25lbs, it's like a mansion on four wheels.  Call it Capitalism Extreme.  White Privilege. I bought it with an " I don't give a shit attitude"

Mexico ... first trip of the year

Last month a close friend of ours asked me about Secrets down in Cozumel, with some pointed questions.  They normally go to Cancun, but were going to change it up.  Gave him all the specifics and jokingly said "if you want some company, let me know'.  Well, few weeks later they are booked and he extends the invite.  Hell, I'm in!  We had a large credit with American Airlines Vacations from a canx trip last year, and I needed to use it in the next several months; problem solved!  Booked a top of the line room, grabbed the best seats available and ...  done!    Cozumel Weather  As I type this paragraph, I'm up way too early .... woke up and couldn't get back to sleep .. it's 2am and I just know I'm going to be hurting later today dragging ass.  Oh well, java java java?  We hit the ground around 2pm today they show up tomorrow. Five days of nice weather forecasted and I'm truly looking forward to it.  The weather here in Tx has been really nice the last w
