Easy Money

Image
Folks, I'm looking for some easy money.   Some of that money you've worked hard for  ( yours not mine ).  What I'll do is ....if you dig deep and send me the cash (cash is king!), I'll pool it all together, go buy a business, put it in MY name, I MYSELF will reap all the profits ... but ...  there's more .. you are an "investor".  Now, I'm not going to give you stock in my new company. I'm not going to share my profits.  Are you fucking nutz?   No.. I've got something better! Here's the idea... ….... Additionally.. I would like to add a perk at the very end for those that donate in the higher bracket.. if funds are collected in a sufficient amount, we can add this on. Remember we are not looking to give a return on the investment but rather a buyer's club perk for donating. Please let me know your thoughts without insulting. The Whistle Blowers ....

Image
Been about ten months since I first starting blogging on this subject. ...  I've had more skin in the game than most; I guess that is why I took it so serious from day one.   I honestly thought it was a bull-shit game in the beginning  and that it'd die down quickly .. but .. it took on a life of it's own.  I had no idea I was dealing with a psychotic narcissistic asshole; I thought he just had an ego that was bigger than deserved.  I was wrong.  So, this crazy shit has gone on and on.   Now anyone that knows me, knows I won't let shit go sometimes.  I like to have the last word.  It's pointed out to me more than once, by more than one.  I think in the big picture, the clown I was dealing with had never butted heads with someone that gave it right back, and more.  But in this scenario, I like to think of it as a "whistle blower' scenario.  Initially, I was simply pissed over a few issues.   I honestly, did not believe there was any true wrong doing going on

Galvestion .. oh Galveston ...

Image
I love this place.  We spend about a quarter of our time down here at our home there, and  ....   I always enjoy it.  I have to admit, sometimes less than others.. sometimes more than others.   When the weather cooperates, I'm all in.   When it sux, I put up with it.  But ... .days like the last few I have to pinch myself. Beautiful Wed morning....   forecasted to be 100% sunny in the afternoon

Tall boys on Indians

Image
First of all, I'm talking about the Chiefs ( TS111 ).  Not the Scout.  You can get a Scout setup for a tall guy, but to be honest I'm an ass on this subject.  If you're tall, WTF are you doing on a Scout? Seems like once a month a new owner chimes in on the latest generation of Indian (Spirit Lakes) Motorcycles not fitting them correctly.  There's a reason for that; they built them too small.  Period.  First, the previous generation built by Kings Mountain bikes were roomier.  Fact.  Second, Indian is owned by Polaris who used to have the Victory line until last year.  Their touring bikes were roomy!  So what do they do when they come out with the '14s back in 2013 time frame?  They delivered them ....  without ample room for us big guys. IMHO they F'd up.  So, what to do? I still remember the first time I rode one of the new models and couldn't believe they'd 'shrunk' the bikes.  Still, I took a leap of faith and 'put up with it'.

Zambini .. no one said they were the smartest

Image
Zambini .. when you say that, most guys know it's a reference to the '3 D' emblems they do with the Indian headdress for Indians  and...  others. But, when Polaris Industries bought Indian Motorcycle, they stopped them from producing them. Funny thing to me personally was most people didn't care, weren't fans. You saw them on a few Indians and LOTs of Drifters that are "Indian Wannabes" .  But like anything, when you say 'no more' suddenly folks want them.   And that is exactly what happened.  These damned things were expensive before ( over $200 for a set ) , but since then they sell over $500 on eBay.  Some folks out there have gotten a lil' sneaky and even done some back room deals out there and making some pretty good money on the side, right under Polaris' nose. Well, guessing someone over at Zambini had a few beers last night when they posted this on Facebook.  Right there on the top left, is what they are NOT supposed to be adver

I'm a Biker....

Image
I started riding in '83.  By '85 was more into it, but didn't 'feel like a Biker.'   I mean I'd ride in shorts/tennis shoes .. Jeans and Tennis Shoes. .. and don some cowboy boots if I was stepping up my game.  Didn't own any leather 'motorcycle boots' or a leather motorcycle jacket.   I just rode to have fun. I remember my first literal vision of  .. 'bikers'.  I'm on Dodge Street in Omaha , riding west out of the city.  In front of me are two big boys on HD Softails, long gray hair in pony tails, with vests on .  These dudes were easily over 6' 225lbs each, built, and looked as cool and bad ass as anyone.  They were riding side by side and they looked like the most confident MF's I'd ever seen on a pair of bikes.  I was riding a ways behind them thinking ....   "I wouldn't want to fuck with them".   Now, I was a big guy myself , lean and mean , bouncing  at a bar in the evenings.  But .. that's the though

Feel the Fury!

Image
Some things.. you just have to see the humor in. Back in the Kings Mountain Indian days, I became aware of Fury Motorcycle.  Why? Well, I've never been to their location.  But, I was made aware of them by a competing dealer of theirs that had a hard on for them.  Back in the Gilroy Indian days, they were the go to dealer in the Twin Cities.  But when Gilroy closed their doors in Sep 2003, they lost their main supplier.  Like a few .. and there were only a few .. that survived that turmoil, they turned to other options.  One of those was the Big Dog Motorcycle brand.  Apparently they also delved into other customs as well as the used HD market.  Interestingly , the North winds Iron Indian chapter has long held their meetings here at this location and continue to do so, even when Indian Motorcycle was revived during the Kings Mountain generation.  Down the road so to speak, a new dealer opened up selling Indians but the IIRA were not welcomed with open arms due to new ownership&

Event Pages

Image
I'm headed down to the Hill country in a few months... and .. I find myself remembering a few things from over the years on the subject.  Now to the average person, I know they are going to be thinking " Really? You lose sleep over this shit?"  Well .. no .. but ..  I'm just a lil' anal I guess. Here it goes..   Historically, when a Motorcycle Event is advertised .. at least back in the day ..   One made some posters and if they were tech savvy' they got on my 'boards' out there and posted the info.  The "boards' then became better known as forums, and many of these still exist.  The Holy Grail to me has always been to have a dedicated Web Page. In my opinion, the Web Page should be the anchor.. the heart.. .of all the info.   The problem is, a lot of info is given out and discussed on other various mediums. And it's hard to summarize and track all info across different mediums.  Historically that might have been email, or forum threads

The "video"

Image
Another day on 'secret' rides ......   now that's funny right there _________________________  Blah blah .. #6 ..  That's it?   Got to be honest, I expected more.  Didn't want to watch it but forced myself ...  after a lot of BS over the last year, thought some of that would find it's way into it ...   it didn't.  And that is good.  I mean this could be around for years on the 'net.  You don't need that crap in there.  So .. kudos. Now .. I have to admit.  I liked the soundtrack.. well, the whole one minute of it.  Does one have to get permission for all that or pay royalties?  I don't know.. I've never produced anything at that level, nor am I qualified.... just thinking out loud.   One thing I expected and I wasn't disappointed; the opportunity once again was taken to hog a large time frame to show them-self.. talk .. and talk .. and ...  at least I didn't have to see a Subaru or Mini or ...  and I still don't get this

To Trailer .. or .. Not to Trailer

Image
Apparently, our manhood is at stake so  ....   think hard about how one answers this question. I mean ....  if traveling from Point A to Point B, do you ride your bike? Do you trailer it?  Do you pull a trailer behind it?   Nothing is ever simple.  What if you like to "RV".  What if you want to bring an extra bike?   What if you're on a timetable?  What if ....  one's man card is at stake? Okay...   Let me just tell you what my answer is.  Who gives a fuck ?   Seriously. Knock yourself out. Do whatever the hell you want. Screw what others think.  But, it's not that simple or I wouldn't be writing this, right?  I swear this shit comes up weekly.. sometimes daily.  And, people are assholes. Okay .  Lets pick a worst case scenario.  Joe Blow Biker wannabe is headed to a rally  a short distance away, so he puts his bike on a trailer and heads to the rally.  Unloads it, puts on his "bad ass" leather crap, then he .. or he and his lady ...  now cruis

2018 - Bring it on!

Image
All I can say is 2017 was an interesting one!  Early on in January, I screwed up my back and it threw me a curve ball.  But since then, I've stayed healthy.   Didn't drop weight like I'd hoped, but I've kept it in check and haven't gone up?   It's been another good year at what I do to pay the bills, an area that I've loved and enjoyed for almost two decades now. Few months ago, I attended a Superbike course that has taken my riding to another level, and it's given me the confidence to push my ZX14R farther and farther outside my comfort zone.  Finally, I've made many more friends throughout the motorcycling community.  At the same time, the twist to this year was a final unraveling of a situation that was teeter tottered between casual acquaintance and friendship that has been waning the last couple of years. That unraveling has had repercussions that I never would have seen coming and it's been an eye opener in human nature. Finally, I've b
