Charity Accountability

Image
Have to admit, until a few years ago ... this subject didn't really come up much with me.  I've blogged about it before a few times.  Over the years, I've seen where Charities abused their authority .. the funds .. you name it. Yesterday I was involved in a heated discussion that burned me on how funds were potentially to be used.  I think things got back on the correct track, but got me thinking about it all .. resulting in this post.  My frustrations on this subject actually go back much further.  Back in late 2016, I became interested in the dealings of a specific one that I'd given a lot of money to over the previous several years, and didn't like what I found.  What I found was minimal accountability.  What I found was the main person behind the curtain was bragging about the revenue coming in .. but.. never discussed the total of dollars given. In other words, I believed they were hiding their overhead.  As I've said before, if a charity b...

Jeeping the Coast 2021 ( JTC )

Finally ... after a year of waiting, it was time! Last year's event was officially cancelled , but many still rolled in including ourselves all the way from Texas. All the bands and events cancelled, but hundreds of Jeeps still roamed the area from Bay St Louis to Gulfport. Unofficial rides and meet points went down and fun was had by all. The weather rocked and I couldn't wait until the 2021 event. I also locked in the AirBnB we had from last year that was close to the beach and a beautiful smaller country home.  Well, as it drew closer..   few things changed up.  As I've mentioned before, we bought a second home in the area which meant I now had an AirBnb cancellation I had to deal with.  Also, we've been busy putting in furniture etc and ... as luck...

SINGLE brand .. you know.. .if you don't ride MY brand, your bike sucks?   Came across this on my FB Newsfeed this morning .... "Any Harley riders in xxx xxxxx ? I want to find people to ride with....."  I almost immediately replied with ...   ' I've got an Indian .. sorry ' in humor, but thought better of it.  Instead as always, my brain took off on an array of thoughts... and ..here I am once again .... blogging. What is it about single brand Owners?   I guess it's common among many of us to gravitate towards the brand we ride, but ....   I have always found it weird.   I've been riding almost 40 years now .. and have owned multiple brands .. still, own multiple brands.  I'm a die hard fan of the Indian Motorcycle Brand, but I've got a beautiful ten year old HD that will smoke mot Indians AND HDs on the road.  Point being, it'll shut a few up that think their bike is the best thing out there since ... well.. you get...
