Key West 2025
Our second time over the last few years. This has been on my nephew's bucket list for many moons and to celebrate his 50th, four of us flew in to enjoy the Keys!
Lucy and I jumped on a plane out of DFW for a direct flight, Pablo and Beth a day apart and flying in each with one stop. Once on the ground, we Lucy and I grabbed a cab and less than 15 minutes later were at our Resort which we got via Airbnb. Turns out to be a great location on the water with two heated pools and just a quick jaunt from downtown. Hour later Pablo cabs it over and we're ubering towards Duval to kick it up a lil. Find some grub, pop into a few joints, grab some bottles to take home and we've got the first night in the books.
Following day, we'll have a few mimosas (shock!) on the back patio and make our say to the Pool Addtionally, I've got a golf cart being delivered for the rest of trip so we'll have solid transportation. The entire trip will be sunny and absent of rain with temps in the 70s and 80s. Damned we've been lucky all year with our trips... great weather! Spent part of the day at the pool, then on the cart headed back to Duval. After dinner, we locate one of our Favs' .. HEROE's Bar where we present them a Chapter coin (we'd given them a CVMA TX coin last trip) and enjoy some great music.
Beth is finally rolling in and we've got the Four Musketeers finally. Another day and evening checking out Duval from end to end. In fact our mantra, the entire trip. The only thing we didn't do that I would have enjoyed immensely is another Sunset Cruise on a Schooner as we did the trip before but this was Pablos' trip and we let me sort of steer the ship of what to do. Give me a pool, some beach time, adult beverages and some grub for my belly, I'm a happy camper. Topped with outstanding weather, zero complaints. We had just returned from 10 days in Mexico and had another one for Xmas few days after we returned ... so .. ... I'm relaxing.
As always.... you wake up one morning and thinking "WTF!" Yep... those six days went by quickly ... too quickly. Will we be back? I'm not sure. I did find out via a retired Army guy I met one day the Navy has a great vaca' spot you can rent from a great value. He was also a huge proponent on just renting a bicycle/tricycle for bar hopping and dinners. Me, I'd like to grab a scooter but mama .. she's all about the golf cart. So, back in the future? Hmmmmmmmmmm.... tough one... so many other places to visit !
