Had an interesting one last week. Had someone question my 'backbone' as a leader.   Had someone question the leadership/backbone of someone 'above' me.   Question the leadership of the person above that person.    I wrote about this elsewhere as a hypothetical situation , but I've got a different take on this post.  First of all, I have backbone and I know the person 'above' me does as well.   Just because we don't agree with the argument, means we don't have backbone?   I assure you if anyone that works for me in the civilian world has an issue and are getting fucked over by management, I've got their back. Have backed this all up the last 25 years.   I assure you that if anyone that reported to me in my military days had an issue and were getting fucked over I backed them up.  Been there done that.   And today in groups I belong with I'll have their back when needed.  But, what if I don't agree with t...

Damned.... 1979 was when it all first began for me.  Seems like a lifetime ago Three years in Security Police out in the Missile fields of SD.  Great times.  Served a few years on a combat competition team which kept us in shape, had us at the range weekly with M16s, lugged an M60 in the field, flew on a lot on Hueys as part of a fire term in support of convoys consisting of fire teams in multiple vehicles transporting war heads, Fire Teams in the field, Camper Alert Teams for 24 hr security, Security Escort Teams with maintenance crews when they accessed the missile sites and finally my last year, earned a spot in scheduling and regained some sanity from the chaos in the field.  Then .. off to EW school.   This is sort of what I wanted from the get-go  (Electronics), but that is another whole story how that all played out.  A year in MS at Electronic Warfare Training, then volunteered to fly and spent another year in training.  It'd be 24 mo...

 ....  almost wish I hadn't discovered this.  On one hand I love this stuff!  But, I spend too much time playing with it.. learning with it.   On the other hand, when I see graphics out there that used to impress me.. .I now assume someone did something similar.   And usually I'm thinking "that's all you got?".  Had they done it by hand.. I'd be impressed. Lets just say... this isn't by hand. But it took me a long time to get to the point I can get these created like this

 Today was a great day!  Got some new ink, so up to 3 on the forearm.  While sitting there getting it done, already decided on 2 more .. maybe 3 .... on the backside of the forearm.  C-130 from the Panama days... maybe one from my Security Police days......  and .. ?   Hopefully, few weeks as soon as these heal up!

 Man ...   3 more sets of holes to go.    Got the Blue one yesterday .. its a size smaller.   I can alllmooooost get the first set of holes.   So obviously ...  before I 'ungrow' the brown one, I'll be smiling in the blue one... ... almost there.  Great workout today!
