Coz Mexico APR 2023 (AirBnB)

Man ...another Coz trip in the books. First AirBnB was back in '19.  Then a Wuhan break, back in '21 at a different location and this time, our second trip to Casa Frida.  Rolled in with ten Gringo's this trip and had a blast.  Six of the folks hadn't been to this home yet, and two hadn't been to Coz before.  Everyone had a blast!   We do a lot of AIs (all inclusive), but these four were AirBnBs... different animal

Last year, we got to experience this place and fell in love with it.  Not only is it a beautiful home with a great location, but David is there to cook breakfast every day, Giuliani is there to manage the process and answer any questions, address any issues. And our maid was there every day to keep everything tidy.  This time around, I arranged for about $600 worth of alcohol, additional water and refreshments to be delivered (everyone chipped in of course).  Ensured when we got there, the fridge was stocked and everyone was happy.

This year we changed it up a notch.  My nephew and his bride couldn't make it,  Johnny was on a boat somewhere in the Pacific.  Michael was planning on heading to Isla Mujeres so he passed.  But my Brother in law and Suzie were back in for a second trip.  Kennedy's were in. Eaton's were in.  And the Keas were in after my nephew backed out.  This was a first because we were all.. ummm... older.  No young'uns in the mix, so to speak.  Still, we'd kick it up every day, and get around the island to the bars and restaurants.

Soon as we hit the ground and freshened up we headed to Casa Mission to celebrate Mike's Birthday.  I love this place.  It's beautiful, food is incredible and the staff are top notch.  It's a must stop when on the island. This trip was a change up with some new places to eat, with  the best of the best being just three blocks away. Sadly, didn't visit it until the final night. Another twist on this one was we finally got on the "Pirate Ship" .  We talked about it last year but never executed.  Donna' pushed a lil this trip and so glad she did.  The 8 of us that ventured out that night had a blast!  They picked me out of the crowd and abused me several times in their 'act' and got my brother in law into the mix a few times as well.  They offered up chicken, steak and Lobster choices... and I thought the Lobster rocked.  I was stuffed!

We did the the Island this time around with Raul whom had taken us to Casa Mission the first night.  For $25 a person we enjoyed multiple locations around the island with no concerns about driving.  This time ws also stopped at Mezcalitos which had an awesome view.  Coconut's and Rasta Bar are always a must.  I swear we need double the time though to really enjoy the day, but there are only so many hours of daylight. The views on the south and east sides of the island are to die for ... beautiful sandy beaches, waves... ... and minimal people.

Casa Frida has a courtyard of a backyard with a lot of privacy so we always spend a lot of time back here.  The pool is big enough for everyone to get in (barely) but usually you only have 4 or 5 in there at a time. The rest are on the edge or in the Palapa next to the pool with seating for all.  Over on the other side a Palapa with hammocks for several folks.  A true paradise. We spent a lot of time back here every day of the week.

So many places visited, margaritas drank, stories swapped.  By the time Monday morning rolled around most said they weren't ready to leave yet.  Made jokes about staying a few more days.  Most said .. "next year!".  I said the same but as I type this .. .I'm beat.  Making reservations for next year is the last thing on my mind.  Catching up on work; thank god my email and voicemail last week was minimal.  So here I sit .. dreaming and scheming.  So much on my plate with my daughters wedding on the horizon.  Key West around the corner next month. Half a dozen motorcycle trips planned.   Mexico?  Maybe... probably.  Another work trip? I hope so.  Back to the condo on the water's edge?  I hope so.  Casa Frida in '24?  I hope so.  But...   for now...  Mexico is just a recent, awesome memory.
