Mexico .. oh No ..

LMFAO — The Sky Is Not Falling 🇲🇽😂 If you scroll through some of the travel Facebook groups right now, you’d think Mexico just slid into the ocean. One incident. One headline. And suddenly it’s DEFCON 1: Cancun Edition. “Cancel everything!” “Sell the timeshare!” “Mexico is burning to the ground!” LMFAO. A Little Perspective (From People Who’ve Seen Some Stuff) We spent three years in Panama when things were actually… spicy. Real spicy. We drove through checkpoints where Panamanians were stopping vehicles with automatic weapons. Not mall cop energy. Real-deal hardware. We had serious incidents involving military folks and their spouses — most of which never made it anywhere near the news cycle. Lucy navigated around protests with burning cars for months. Literal flames. Traffic detours courtesy of Molotov cocktails. And we wrapped the whole experience up with Operation Just Cause. Things escalated. We handled it. We moved on. So forgive us if we don’t clutch our pe...

Just About Cruised Out 🚢… For Now

Just About Cruised Out 🚢… For Now We were never “cruise people.” Our first sailing was back in late 2004. It was fun. Different. Easy. Then… nothing for ten years. Around 2014 we sailed out of Galveston. Then a few years later — another. And then another. Somewhere along the way, cruising quietly became “our thing.” In fact, the last two years alone we’ve done three… maybe four? (I’ve honestly lost count.) We just wrapped up the country cruise last month, and yes — there’s one more on the radar later this year. But after that? We’re taking a break. Why the Cruise Pause? Don’t get me wrong — cruising has its place: You unpack once. You wake up somewhere new. Food is everywhere. It’s efficient travel. But after stacking several close together, something started to feel… repetitive. Same format. Same flow. Same balcony views (beautiful, but still ocean). And while ships keep getting bigger and flashier, we’ve started craving something different. Something slower. Something more im...

Huatulco, MX!

🌴✈️ UPCOMING TRIP TO MX! Secrets Huatulco on the Pacific Coast We’ve got another Mexico trip on deck — and this one feels just right. Destination? Secrets Huatulco Resort & Spa on Mexico’s Pacific Coast. Flights are booked. Bags will be light. Expectations are high.  Peso's in Hand! And this one is shaping up to be the perfect reset trip. Why Huatulco? Compared to Cancun or Riviera Maya, Huatulco is a completely different vibe. Instead of a long hotel strip and high-energy tourism, Huatulco sits along a protected bay system: 9 bays 36 beaches Mountain-meets-ocean views Crystal-clear water Almost no seaweed issues And unreal Pacific sunsets You trade Caribbean sunrise for golden-hour coastal drama — and honestly, that’s a trade we’re happy to make. The Resort: Secrets Huatulco Secrets Huatulco is one of those underrated gems.  It's been on my radar for almost a year now.  Snagged a Prefered Junior Suite Ocean Front King. ...

Don't be Mean ... please

Damned....   got a text this morning from a FB Group Admin in reference to a group I read and comment in often.  They don't like my 'tone' of voice.  At some level, I sort of get it.  But at some other level ....  not. If folks post stupid shit, and I openly question it ...  and folks get butt hurt ..   well, one gets the picture.  Sigh.  Guess I'll take a break for awhile.   Around 10% of the posts I find informative.  About 10% are just idiotitc.  Guessing 50% are reptiivive because people join and ask the same fucking questions over and over and over becuase they are either too stupid and/or lazy, to read many of the posts prior or do a basic search in the group.   This ties back to a Vacation Club I bought into last year.  I've become ultra focused on it to maximize the benefits, to get the best ROI.   On the other hand, you have folks that have been members for years that never utili...

Country Music Cruise 2026

From Rock to Country: Why the Country Music Cruise Was One Hell of a Ride Last year we did MORC (Monsters of Rock Cruise), and it was an absolute friggin’ blast —but it was rock music, loud guitars, and head-banging days and nights. When it came time to rebook for 2026, we decided to shake things up a bit. That’s when we stumbled across the Country Music Cruise 2026 . I casually mentioned it to my cousin… and next thing you know, we were all booked. Looking back now, that decision was made 11 months ago , and as it turns out, our timing couldn’t have been better. As the months rolled on between booking and boarding , I stayed pretty low-key about the whole thing. Honestly, I even joked that I’d cancel if I could—we’d been traveling nonstop, and I was feeling a little travel-worn. Thankfully, that never happened. Because everything lined up just right. The weather back home? A mess. Florida and the Gulf of America? Absolute perfection. Beating Winter… Barely We changed things up this ...
