I became aware of the '20/80' rule quite a few years ago... seems it was always mentioned in motivation and sales books... I've noticed there are different variations of it, but basically , my take on it is as follows. Two ways of looking at this .  In a pure Sales sense, 20% of your Customer Base Equals 80% of your Revenue.  This is true many times; For me, I find that if I put 80% of my effort into 20% of my total customer base, this comes out the other end as 51-80% of my total Revenue.  So, I tend to focus on several customers and the others enter the 'queue' . It's all about Time Management.  Why waste 50% of my total  time one week for someone that comes to me once every several years, for low budget projects?  It's a tough decision and hard to balance sometimes, because you don't want to turn business away. Bored .... not sure how else to describe it. Need some serious intellectual interaction.  I love my 'life' .. NASCAR, Motorcycles, Gym, etc, etc.   but it's like pulling teeth to get friends to discuss subjects with real meat .. Finances, Retirement, Goals, Planning, etc....    Seems like daily I post crap on Facebook hoping to prompt conversations... and .. .99% of the time... nada' ....       Starting to wonder if I've superseded my current environment ..... frustrating.

Incredibly, I didn’t start riding until an adult, though I’ve had the itch since I was a kid.  As a pre-teen, I remember having dreams of riding motorcycles, but in those dreams, I was always pedaling the damned things.. maybe I was a bike rider in the early 1900s in an earlier life?  (Just kidding!).   I always wanted one of those fat tire Honda or minibikes we’d see around.  However, due to moving a lot and lack of peers who had bikes, it never happened.   While in the USAF, my neighbor was selling his Kawasaki LTD440.  Now at 6’4 235 back then… this was a small bike!  However, I got my feet wet with it.  Two years later, a buddy let me ride is V65 Magna…   then a few days later I’d traded up to an LTD1000!   With a few moves (I’m retired USAF now), I’d sold the LTD1000, rode a Suzuki GL 1100, and in ’02 after retiring, made the jump to a Vulcan 1500 Classic.  I rode this bike a lil’ here and there, putting on...

Just got back from an incredible five days in Cozumel, Mexico! As I look back over the years, I find myself a little 'shocked' how many trips we've taken....  I started counting the other day how many we've gone on since '05 time frame.  I quickly ran out of fingers on one hand.. then the other.. and time to move to the toes!!! Back in Late 2004 we took a Cruise from New Orleans to Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel, which basically set everything in motion!  We realized upon getting off the boat, that we Loved Mexico and wanted to return! We got the itch while going to Barcelo, Spain on a company paid trip and sent my Systems' Engineer and his wife on a trip to Cozumel. An article brought back memories of many conversations over the years on this subject I've had with folks..... Personally, I remember when we moved into our second home in a newer neighborhood....   Leanne was a stay at home mom raising our daughter... while the rest of the neighborhood was eerily quiet all day ... both parents working to afford the new house, two new cars in the driveway, etc, etc... somewhere around 4-5 pm, all the families began to appear... ( if you don't count all the kids coming home to an empty home after school)..... Additionally .... I've had dozens of conversations with folks that worked for me complaining of not making enough $$ to be able to live ....    now....this is a complicated subject... and one that gets many emotionally charged....   The vast majority of these folks had 2+ vehicles...2+phones...TVs... etc.. you get the picture.... The more questions I asked, the more flags that went up.... ...  Guess living...
