New Indian Rider woes...

After a few years.. you see a trend.  Redundant questions, some borderline ... umm... dumb... come up again .. and .. .again.  So in fun a few of us came up with .....   a list.

Some guy on a group asked:
"I have a question, what do you do if your out and about and the battery in your fob goes out. I guess it would be a good idea to carry a extra battery."

And... it begins!!!

I have read some of those same comments on FB, the FOB battery was the best. I have unfollowed a few Indian groups becasue it seems the stupidy is a virus. When I see the questions about bike jacks, what is the best oil, "..do the front forks really have oil ?" etc...I swear, put down the freking wrench and step away from your damn bike.

You really want to just sit back and wonder how do these people continue to live? It is almost like they need a set of directions on how to breathe. Step 1 - inhale. Step 2 - exhale. Step 3 repeats steps one and two. How were they ever able to decided on buying this or anything? Do the same people also go out to a Samsung or Apple web page and ask why their phone battery is constantly needing to be charged. Maybe there are this many uneducated people within our midst. Does not say much about public education or common sense. You obviously know how to set-up a Facebook account, you know enough to remember your password (well, probably written down or is the same as their name.

If it's a first time bike owner it's somewhat understandable that they don't know a lot about certain things but comment sense has just left the building! Instead of saying "this has probably been asked already but", take a couple minutes to scroll down on the page youre on to check and you will probably find your answer! What's frustrating when on those group pages are posts from previous bike owners of other brands that treat Indians like space cruisers! The basic mechanics are all the same! You mean to tell me a Harley motor doesn't get hot?! You've got a combustion engine (i.e. small explosions) inches from your body! "What color bike should I get?" How the hell should we know what you like for Christ's sake? Buy what you like! It's your bike! You don't a forum to decide that for you! Ok, I'm done ranting

My all time favorite is when you post a link for a free download of the shop manual for the Indian Chief and it happens to be a 2017 manual and you state in the post that it covers all thunderstroke 111 Indian motorcycles and that if you can not make the adaptions from any other year thunderstroke 111 Indian, you probably should not be wrenching on your own bike, and the first question (I kid you not) is will this work for my 2014 Vintage, and the second comment is I need one for a Springfield...
