Cherokee got some new mocassins

Back in '99 ... picked up a '00 Grand Cherokee.  Was on a budget so didn't get the version I really wanted.  Drove that a 100k miles but ....  always 'wished' I'd gotten the model with the leather interior.  The sunroof.  The V8 motor. Still for the next several years we drove that sucker pretty much everywhere .. then... traded it off.

Decade later picked up a '14 Grand Cherokee Outlander model.  But this time....   Hemi V8.  All leather.  Sunroof.  Then ripped out the exhaust and had an X Pipe setup w/ dual mufflers. Damned that sounded bad-ass.  And, over 20mpg on the highway doing 80mph w/ the cruise.   Yes!

As we came up on 50k miles, we got a wild hair up our asses and traded up to a  '17 Grand Cherokee Summit model. Pretty similar to the previous, but white instead of black.  Few more options since this was the top end luxury model .. but essentially the same. Icing on the cake?  Gets 23mpg with the Hemi at 80mph!  Going on over three years now with 80k miles and ...    what to do .. what to do.  Well, my plan was to go to the 2021 which was supposed to be all new .. but .. apparently that's now the 2022 model.  The 2021 is going to be the final year of the 'same body style' and .... I'll wait.  So, brought it in to get new brakes, tires rotated, etc.  His the kicker; brakes were fine.  Huh?  80k miles and better than 50% left on the pads.  In all fairness, the majority of the miles are highway and we drive with the adaptive cruise on, so.... brakes don't get a lot of work. Turns out a couple of tires are just about gone .. so .... new set of NITTOs with a 75k mile warranty.  I've never driven a vehicle I've owned over a 100k miles of my own time putting them on.. but.. we're headed there this time.

Guessing we'll press on for another year or two , and see if we approve of the 2022 model when it finally rolls out.  If not..... had my eyes on the Porsche Macan; bad ass smaller SUV.  The Jaguar has been catching my attention.  And the Range Rover models have been calling mama's name.  ... but .. I love my Jeeps..... really hoping they pull it off in '22   .....  onus' is on them
