Materialism

Drove the store in my 'new' H2 today to get some gas for the mower.. and got me to thinking...... Recently, I traded in a Solstice/FJ Cruiser ( Both! ) for a late model H2 Hummer. A few days before that , upgraded my '07 1ton Dodge to an '08 F450 so I can pull the big @ss Toy Hauler I bought last year. And a few weeks before that, we got Leanne the G37 she's wanted since '04 ( G35 back then ) . Now, today .. I'll most likely do the craziest.... an Indian Chief motorcycle... brand new, and costs a stupid amount of money. So, as I 'm driving down the road, all this goes through my mind ( as several people wave at me in my H2 ...... it's got the mojo). Do I buy these to keep up with the Jones? I already knew this answer.. No. Do I do it for status? No. Though that's an interesting angle to consider. I would say that I do it to fulfill some inner need, some connection to my personality. I've got the ability to do these thin...

Finally .. safety in size!

Well.. finally upgraded the truck. Deep down I knew I needed to do this after buying a huge Fiver Toy Hauler last year. I just get tired of throwing money into the pit.... But, I'll have the hitch loaded mounted on it later this week, and do a test run! This F450 is rated for 24k lbs.. and I'm max, 18k ( supposedly) . All I know, is my Austin trip was a little scary with the RV loaded up to max capacity. Looking forward to pulling it now!
ROT Rally: Due to the blowout, we got in late last night, and missed the gate time to enter ROT by 30 minutes. Proceeded on about 1/2 mile and noticed a bunch of RV's pulled into a 20 acre corner lot someone had just mowed. Pulled in, quick disconnect of the fiver, and we headed to dinner with Jess. By the time we got back, pretty beat, so just cranked up the Generator and AC, and got a great nites sleep. About 6:45am as I write this.. gates open at 8am , so we'll pull in and be setup well before noon! Now.. just need to find a tire shop to replace my Nitto 20" mess of a tire.

Guess... I'm in a mood...

I guess my FB readings have given me a day to day insight into the 'average' person's thought process... there are so many things I read about, and want to reply.. but then it might not be 'appropriate' so to speak.. .... so, I guess these thoughts will find there way to my blog. Guess I feel a notch safer here? Thoughts.... You wanted the baby , now you complain about work and 'life' around it. What I don't understand is, who do you think is going to care for the child when you have to work? Here's my thought straight and simple. You screwed up if you have to figure out who's going to take care of that child while you make a living. Doesn't mean you don't love that baby. Doesn't mean you can't 'make it work'. But lets get the basic fact out of the way... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? That child deserves a parent raising them... not a babysitter... not the school system.... their Parent. You were thinking about ...

Day 3 of my new Journey.. I really believe it's achievable this time around. I think I've had to overcome a few mental roadblocks. The first being .. i like being BIG! I spent my 20's 'wishing' I was 6'6 and 275. Then several years ago.. I went past the 275 mark... then 280..290.. and 305. A deep, dark part of me liked it! I knew I was as big as a football lineman. My arms had finally hit 20' .... but, one problem. That wasn't all muscle and when I saw a photo of me at 305..and had to buy a new pair of dress pants due to the waist size... ... not good! ... that was the beginning of this ... Two years ago, I dropped down to 275 and felt great , but still had 10-20 lbs of fat to lose. Last year, I allowed it to happend again... I climbed up to 295 and thought here we go again. Currently I'm at 288 and looking 'down' as this continues. Here's the kicker.... I don't want to weigh 218 like I do in these pics ( circa '86). At least I ...
